Connecticut Council for Divorce Mediation and Collaborative Practice (CCDM)

Who we are

CCDM is the statewide non-profit professional organization of Connecticut mediators and collaborative divorce practitioners including attorneys, mental health professionals and financial specialists. Our vision is to change the way people divorce or separate in Connecticut by reducing conflict and improving the lives of family members - especially children.
To accomplish this mission, we:

• Provide the public with information about non-adversarial divorce alternatives.
• Provide the public with a searchable database of professionals who are specially qualified and trained in mediation and collaborative practice.
• Educate, train and support our members toward achieving excellence in their field.

Through its members, CCDM serves couples in Connecticut who wish to respectfully dissolve their marriage or civil union through a non-adversarial process.

Non-adversarial processes help couples by:

• Promoting respect and helping couples to maintain control of the process.
• Helping parents keep focus on their most important goals throughout the divorce, especially reducing the emotional burden on children.
• Maintaining family integrity by keeping information and assets private and out of the public record.
• Saving  time and money by reducing conflict and keeping the process out of court
